"No, I didn’t start out taking pictures on an iPhone and declare myself a photographer. I started out on a 35mm film camera, like the generation of photographers before me. I found my passion for photography expand through travel, and through my growing feelings of nostalgia for a time when film photography was an art form. I traveled abroad every summer between high school semesters, working on community service projects, from building schools in remote villages in Thailand, to rainforest conservation projects in Costa Rica. And it just so happened that I brought that 35mm film camera with me.
When creating an image I am always looking to make it my own, while also making it easy for the viewer to understand and experience the moment in their own way. In August 2017, I began to hone my skills in the photography program at Daytona State College. I have enjoyed learning different lighting patterns, understanding the ethics involved in capturing an image, and much, much more. Many of my images are raw and uncut. This is intentional, because I want the viewer to see the world how it really is."
